I'd suggest this as something "pre-trip" to help you focus interest and then go find a more in-depth guide. We got this for the Kindle and I found it a bit difficult to use in that format, but I have other versions (Paris, Rome) and they give a nice little encapsulated overview of different districts/neighborhoods with the top sights highlighted. No details tho.There are nice LITTLE fold-out maps of each area discussed, which I like, but can't read very well.

I have the Little Black Book Rome, they are great for travel, easier to carry on my trips abroad to Italy.
I like the size of the "book". It is compact yet the maps which pull out are large enough to be able to navigate while using them. I plan to do more focused reading on the plane when we make our journey to Italy. So far I have only done a cursory inspection. I also like the hard cover and elastic which can be slipped over the book to keep it closed and unwrinkled.
Perfect little book, small easy to carry. cell phones don't really work in Florence so having paper maps and info is best.
I did not find this guide to be useful. I had thought it would be more of a locals' insiders guide but it was simply less informative than many 'generic' guides.
I had this little book for three days in my hands while walking through Florence! It has everything you need to have a great holiday, I found excellent pieces of advice and the best recommendations for places to visit with very good directions!
Well worth the cost for good information. I got it as a hard copy and an book and used the digital version while traveling. The information was up to date and it allowed me to find some places I might not have with other sources.
